Meet Andy Chown: We’re Hiring!
Meet Andrew (Andy) Chown, Associate Director Global Talent Acquisition for the Pride Global family of companies. Andy brings over ten years of staffing experience and has big plans for growth across the Pride Global family. We’re over the moon to welcome Andy to the family!
How did you get involved in Talent Acquisition?
I had been working for a small staffing company in London for a year doing full cycle and whilst I enjoyed some elements, it didn’t give me the opportunity to understand how the company I worked for operated. Luckily, they had an opening in Talent Acquisition and I jumped at the chance.
What experience do you bring with you to Pride Global?
I have over a decade of staffing experience, the last 4 of which have been in building the USA arm of my previous company as a Talent Acquisition Associate Director. I’d managed the UK team for a few years before moving out, so I was excited to cover the US! Prior to staffing I worked in B2C and B2B sales and previously played rugby semi-professionally.
What will your role at Pride Global involve?
Predominantly sourcing and hiring more great talent in addition to the current teams (Natalia & Bailey) efforts, implementing some new structures and initiatives and growing the company across the various brands and geographies whilst establishing the Talent Acquisition team as a best in class function.
What do you see for the future of Pride Global?
I feel that there’s so much potential both nationally and internationally. With the current client base, growth plans and opportunities, the sky is the limit. When you consider what a small company we are currently, but how swiftly we’ve grown so far, there’s so much more we could do. More offices in more countries and more opportunities everywhere!
What motivates you every day?
Providing a good life for my wife (and myself) but also knowing that somehow I’m making a difference to someone, whether it’s a colleague, friend or family member. I also hate the idea of letting people down so that motivates me too
Why did you choose Pride Global?
A couple of things, the people mostly. If I’m going to spend the majority of my waking hours at a company I want to know I get on well with them. Add to that, the idea of hiring fully formed adults, makes for a very attractive environment. Also the growth plans that I will be helping to build for the future of the business. That and the happy hour I was invited to…
Anything else you would like the world to know?
I’m a big fan of donuts and anything involving sport
